Week 4: Rachael drops 5 pounds!
Truthfully, I didn’t know what to expect when I met with Tanya this week. I’m two weeks into my F-Factor Diet, and I didn’t really feel any different. I’m eating all the fiber-filled foods I'm supposed to, and avoiding all of the starchy stuff I should. But really, I didn’t feel like my life was any different. What if I let Tanya down? What if I let you Skinny readers down? So I’m two weeks into my diet, and I have news... Are you ready? OK, drum roll... I lost five pounds! I lost five pounds and it wasn’t even hard. I am blown away. Tanya said if I stuck to phase 1 of F-Factor, I would lose 4-6 pounds in the first two weeks, and I did! She even took my measurements and I lost three inches: two form my boobs, one from my waist! (Oh, boobs, why are you always the first to go?) This is great motivation to stay on track!
The day after my meeting, I had a tough day at work and I went shopping to ease my emotional pain. (Hey, I now know eating mac n’ cheese wont make my problems any better, but a new pair of heels almost always can!) I saw a dress that I absolutely loved, but the store was out of my normal size 12. On a whim, I decided to try on the 10. Well, low and behold, it fit! And it looked awesome!!! Seriously I was stunned. Yea me!
But let break it down for you for a moment: I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I want to discuss it with all of you. Keeping to this diet is a lot easier for me than it is for other people, because I have the pressure of knowing that you’re reading! Thanks for helping keep me on track. I meet with Tanya and update this blog every week, and that makes me accountable for my food choices for the seven days in between. People who diet on their own DO NOT have it this easy. So thank you, seriously, for helping me stick to this plan. I really don’t think I could be doing this without you!
Tanya's Tip: Keeping a food journal also makes you accountable for what you eat every day. My patients who keep a journal are more likely to reach their nutrition goals faster.
